Researching Into Genres

Horror -

  •  'Are unsettling that strive to elicit the emotions of fear and disgust'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horror_film
  • Tend to be highly intense films were the viewer/reader can really interact with the story line.
  • Generally quite scary and jumpy created through the sound and orchestras contained within a horror film.

Thriller -
  • Thrillers main elements consist of 'suspense, tension and excitement' all three connect very well, we know this because there is a big target audience for thriller genres. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thriller_(genre)
  • Thrillers tend to build a mood upon the audience, the interaction of the film could be based around experiences of our real world that we have stumbled upon meaning that the audience can relate to modern times and grow deeper into the story line.

Detective **Our official genre for our coursework** -
  • 'Detective films are a sub-genre of the crime genre and triller' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mystery_film
  • Normally are made to make you assume and run of with your own ideas in how something happened and how it could be solved
